Irish Channel Block Party

Again, we’re late. We’re sorry. But we were so adamant about getting to Tracey’s at 11am this morning that we forgot to post this. “Blame it on the Al-al-al-alcohol”.

So this post is coming from one lone LOCer at home while the rest of the krewe continues on the quest to heighten their BAC by way of green beer. So if you feel like drinking and don’t feel like reading. Stop right here and head to Tracey’s. But not me, I must write.

So if you’re not already there, I’ll bring you up to speed:

Tracey’s has been jam-packed since 11am this morning.

Tracey’s will continue to be jam-packed until 11pm tonight.

Sadly, LOC has yet to participate in the full 12 hour event (jobs ruin everything) but most of us have been lucky enough to see the aftermath of the festivities upon post work arrival. Aka – over 400 very happy customers in Tracey’s, on the street, in people’s yards 3 blocks away, and each of them positively radiant from all of the green beer running through their blood. Therefore, LOC made a pledge to St. Patrick (the patron saint of drinking promises) not to miss this full day of merriment in 2012.

And because our BFBF is the best, they are (currently) doing it BIG this year:

-          St. Patrick’s Day T-Shirts (because you don’t already have 47)

-          Green Beer (green dye makes beer 10x better. Too bad it couldn’t do the same for ketchup.)

-          Green Jell-O Shots (a-thank-you)

-          Jameson Irish Whiskey (duh)

-          Killeagen Irish Whiskey (don’t kill me, I’ve already died and gone to heaven)

-          Sailor Jerry Arnold Palmer (sure. whatever. give me one)

-          Crescent Crown Guinness (no st. patty’s day is complete without one)

-          Corned Beef and Cabbage (the only thing keeping you coherent after consuming each of the above drinks)

ALSO get excited for:

-          Sailor Jerry Photo Booth (to document how pale and Irish you look before summer saves you)

AND

-          The 1^st Annual LEPRECHAUN COSTUME CONTEST: 4:00PM
